GUYS. Many thanks to
maggiesox and
starlasoma for reccing
Iron Man in their journals, because if you two hadn't put it on my radar as something that people enjoyed (people whose taste I can trust, I mean), I wouldn't have suggested it to my mom when we couldn't find ANYTHING worth seeing this afternoon, and that would have been very sad. (Also, thanks to Robert Downey, Jr for being the only reason Mom agreed to go in the first place.)
( Spoilers! )Also, I have to be the only person on the planet who tends to mix up Jeff Bridges and Kurt Russell. I blame this on having seen, like, one of each of their movies. Well, technically I've seen part of
The Big Lebowski, but I hated it (please, just let that pass, it bored and annoyed me and you cannot change that) and forgot as much of it as I could as quickly as possible, so it doesn't count. So I'm sitting there in the theater being totally distracted, thinking, "Who is that? I know that guy. WHO IS THAT? OH. OH. I KNOW. It's that guy, the one from
Grindhouse that I always mix up with Jeff Bridges!" Well, I was halfway there. (The other movie I've seen Bridges in:
Stick It. SILENCE. It's better than it looks. Just don't ask me how I mix up a gymnastics coach with a serial killing stuntman. I don't know the answer to that.)
And I kept thinking of the character as "Ozymandias." Apparently I'm even more excited for
Watchmen than I thought I was.
( One more spoiler, with implied spoileriness for Watchmen as well. )By the way, random question that came up in my mind during the trailers - what's the deal with the Hulk movie? Is it a sequel to the one from a few years ago? Or are we pretending that never happened?
