Dear Braves,
Hey, thanks! And I am given to understand that I owe extra thanks to Chipper Jones and his five RBI, so thanks, Chipper! Very obliging of you guys to pull at least one out against the Phillies. Thanks in part to you, my 'Stros have reclaimed the wild card lead once more.
Dear the Farns,
I am sorry. I should have known better. Actually, I did know better. When I pulled up that Braves/Cardinals game last month to watch you pitch, and got there just in time to see Pujols get that homer, I thought to myself, "Self, you are NL poison. Much like you cannot watch the Astros play, you cannot watch the Farns pitch for the Braves."
But I got careless tonight, and I flipped to TBS to see you pitch. And you gave up a homer. I'm so sorry. The rest of your inning - two K's and catching that line drive to get the out - washott gorgeous, so I accept the blame for that one blemish. I promise I won't do it again unless you face my Astros in the postseason, in which case you better believe I'll watch your every move on the mound.
Dear Vance Wilson,
This is a very special day. As of the end of this last game, your BA finally stands at an even .200. Heck, before you K'd on that last at bat, it was .202which was kind of hot. Congratulations, and may it climb further before the season ends.
Dear Brad Ausmus,
Third homerun of the season! Hooray! And sneaking it in right before Biggio got his, too. Very smooth.
Dear Astros, Tigers and Red Sox,
Two outta three, man, I'll take it. Apparently I ought to be upset with the Sox but - well, see my previous letter to the Red Sox Nation. However, the division lead shrinking to one and a half isn't to be taken lightly, either, so watch yourselves, boys.
