Stampedes, hurricanes, jet crashes, theatre fires - people are fucking dying everywhere. Is this unusual or am I just paying more attention all of a sudden?

Okay. It has been brought to my attention by certain insistent parties that I am not writing at all enough lately although said insistent parties would do well to get rolling on certain rambling fics that NEED to be expanded upon even if they are never actually finished, so I am issuing a very rare request for a challenge. I say rare because I suck at following through on challenges, but anyway.
