Why even bother with the Detroit feed when the announcers are going to spend so much time verbally fellating Derek Jeter? They might as well just stick me with YES's bullshit.

AND NOW THEY'RE DOING IT AGAIN HATE. He bowled over Cano and caught a ball, he didn't produce loaves and fishes to feed the crowds. SHUT UP.

I wouldn't be so complainy, but they were doing it even before the goddamn play. Hey, DETROIT ANNOUNCERS, how about talking about players from, I don't know, DETROIT?

Edited to demand WHY THE FUCK IS A-ROD'S THERAPY NEWS IN DETROIT? It's also apparently going to be a story in tonight's SportsDesk on NESN. OH MY GOD WHO CARES. Someone in such a tremendously high-pressure situation as A-Rod's seeing a shrink is not NEWS so much as OBVIOUS. Fifteen or twenty years ago, when therapy carried that stigma of weakness, such an admission from an athlete would have been courageous. Now, therapy is so much part of society that it's irrelevant. Like millions of other people, the Princess has problems and he's smart enough to see someone about it. Good for him. Now how is that news?

Go, Tigers! Uh, I mean, they lost, but by a respectable margin! And A-Rod got K'ed twice! And Maroth pitched a very nice game! I could be all sad, but fuck it. There are losses, and then there are losses. I will happily take a mere 4-2 loss the night after a 12-3 one. And tomorrow is Bonderman vs Brown. Excellent.

The Red Sox also lost, 6-1. I'm - really not sad I chose the Tigers game instead. I mean, I had the Sox on in the background, but the Tigers game was so close for so long that the Sox never had a chance to catch and hold my attention. I have been assured that I missed very little, other than Bronson hitting like eighty-four batters, but that's hardly unusual.

But kids, the big shocker of the evening, are ya ready for this one? Yeah. THE ASTROS WON. 5-1. And they did it in two hours and twenty-one minutes. And once again, it looks like Brandon Backe and Morgan Ensberg were the heroes of the game. This ends a seven-game losing streak and brings them up to three whole road game wins. You know, when your team sucks for a week straight, and does shit like this (scroll down a bit), a win is just the best thing ever. GO ASTROS.
