Mar. 9th, 2005 07:01 pmLooks like Schilling might not be ready to start on Opening Day at Yankee Stadium. Between a bout of the flu and possibly having to testify before Congress about steroids next week, he's short of time to get ready.
And you know what? Thank god. (No, not Schilling's God, just generic "thank god" god.) I've been worried that he'd push himself to be ready and then just wreck all the progress his ankle has made and end up on the DL for a million years, but it's lookin' like now he won't be able to.
I get that Schilling v. Johnson on Opening Day would be awesome and all, but it's hardly worth risking his season on whether he's as ready as he says he is.
That's all I've got today; I'm feeling kinda sick, and just that little bit of rambling was an effort.
