Oct. 9th, 2004 10:53 amWhee! Have job! And this one, I think I might actually keep! It's a part-time seasonal job at the Discovery Channel Store. Yeah, okay, not exactly a major career move, but I'm running short on cash, this seems like it will be fun, and the thirty percent discount may prove most helpful in Christmas shopping this year. (Dammit, I have got to start getting organized for that. Time to make my yearly list of people to buy for and jot down ideas. I wish I only had to buy for the people for whom I instantly have three or four or eighteen awesome ideas. I hate trying to guess for half my list.)
So - yay!
In other news - I got nothin'. I have settled into a routine that involves plenty of trips to the library and Videoport, and I've been spending the last few weeks plowing through Videoport's (incomplete) collection of Red Dwarf. Which is one of those shows that I've been hearing about and told I should watch for years, and I did actually see a couple eps a few years ago, but I just took me forever to get around to it. Which is kind of a shame, because I've been enjoying myself immensely, and also kind of not, as it's been the perfect diversion to keep me from going crazy with boredom, anxiety over my finances, and (while I'm being honest) this weird lump that surfaced under my arm a few days ago. (What? I shower regularly and everything. Shut up.)
So, yay to having a job, because being unemployed for too long can seriously get on your nerves. Now I'm going to have something scheduled to do, I'm going to make some cash doing it, and I probably won't have as much time to spend quite as much money at Videoport as I've been doing. So I'm happy.
