Mar. 27th, 2004 03:49 pmHi! Just letting you all know I'm not dead. I just haven't been out to the library much, and when I'm here I can't seem to get my brain into entry-writing gear.
Couple of comments on movies that I've been saving for when I had the motivation to type them:
Watched Beyond Re-Animator shortly after the bike accident. Was highly entertained. It really had very little to do with the first two movies, but that's okay because I have this theory where each of the three flicks took place in its own little universe. I think I actually liked it bestdon't hurt me, but can no longer remember why. I've also concluded that ( minor spoiler ), so there you are.
Then this weekend, I had an inadvertent movie marathon. I didn't mean to. I just kept finishing one movie and putting in the next. I watched Secondhand Lions, which was v. good and also has Christian Kane (whee!); Intolerable Cruelty, which wasn't as much fun the second time as it was the first, because I knew what was coming and so had time to ponder the impossible plot holes (although I also got to be amused by little background things like the soap doctor dramatically explaining how difficult it is to operate without actual nerves in one's hands); a French film called The Closet (Le Placard), which made me feel cultured because I had actually heard of no less than three of the actors in it before (okay, so one of them was Gerard Depardieu, but still); and then I finished it off with My Tutor. Which I rented for Crispin. It was one of his first movies. And - oh god. Have you ever watched one of those movies that wasn't merely bad in a bad way, but bad in a soul-scouringly painful way, a way that makes you feel like you're less of a person for having watched it? Yeah, it was one of those. It wasn't worth it. Crispin had a shirtless scene. AND IT STILL WASN'T WORTH IT. AND THIS IS ME SAYING THIS. YES, I'M SHOUTING.
And now I have to stop shouting because I'm being kicked off. I wasn't done yet, either, I wanted to make fun of Keanu in Something's Gotta Give. Oh well.
