TITLE: "Buzz, Buzz"
AUTHOR: Cathryn
RATING: NC-17 for m/m sex.
PAIRING: Ephram/Karl Thomasson (crossover with the Substitute series)
SUMMARY: Ephram finds his new substitute very interesting. Very interesting indeed . . .
DEDICATED: To [livejournal.com profile] lifeinwords. This is my response to her challenge: "Ephram/Male Other. Kink: bondage, any level.  Words: debonair, mercy, messenger." Somehow, I doubt this is what she had in mind.
THANKS: To Hoedogg, for helping me tweak the first paragraph and for moral support. Moral support thanks also go to [livejournal.com profile] alleycatstrike. You guys rock.
NOTE: Please read this fic with a grain of salt. It's not meant to be taken even remotely seriously. I 'd like to know who could write a serious Everwood/Substitute crossover, anyway. For an idea for what Treat-as-Karl looks like, check out my icon for this entry, or try this rather more flattering image.
DISCLAIMER: Everwood was created by Greg Berlanti. The Substitute series, as far as I can work out, can be blamed on Roy Frumkes, Alan Ormsby, and Rocco Simonelli. I think. At any rate, I didn't do it and I'm not making a penny off this fic. Oh, and the title came from Hamlet, of course.
ONE MORE NOTE BEFORE I SEND YOU ON YOUR WAY: If you want to check out the Substitute series, start with two, three, or four. (Frankly, the order doesn't matter. I watched them in reverse and it didn't make any difference.) Treat Williams is not, I repeat not, in the first one. It is also only fair to observe that they just aren't very good movies, with two being the relative best and four being the jaw-droppingly worst.
OKAY: I'm done.

Some begin the telling of a tale with "It all started when . . .", but the truth is . . .

So this week's challenge at [livejournal.com profile] everwood100 is, of all thing, crossovers. After I was finished laughing hysterically at the timing, I had an idea.

Buffy/Everwood: What if, when all those girls and women came into their Slayer powers in the Buffy finale, Delia was one of them?

I actually ended up writing a second drabble a little while after the first, so I decided I might as well post them here.

Drabble one:

Delia started feeling different that day. Strong. Fast. Sure of herself. She could see better and hear better, and when she saw that older boy hitting Ephram, she didn't run to go find a grown-up.

She ran to Ephram instead, and she hit that boy in the stomach so hard that he fell right on his butt.

Ephram was amazed. The boy called them freaks, but then he ran away, and that was all she cared about.

Delia turned and beamed at her brother.

"I won't let them hurt you anymore. It's my job to take care of you now."

**********

Drabble two:

There was something different about Delia. Andy had noticed it over the past few weeks; she was quicker and more coordinated, could hear her name from three rooms away, and she was tougher. She gave off a vibe of strength and power that eight year olds rarely had.

And, oddly, she broke things. She always said she expected the item to be heavier or sturdier than it was.

So part of him remained unsurprised when the young red-headed woman at the door smiled brightly and said she was a witch named Willow Rosenberg, and she'd come to see Delia Brown.
