I haven't the mental energy to flail about it properly (blame Oscar Wilde; an essay on criticism as art disguised as a couple dandies shooting the pretentious shit is, while carrying added entertainment value, still an essay on criticism as art, and a fairly long one, too), so I will keep it brief and spoilerfree.
Dollhouse: I have been unsure about its ability to sustain itself past the first-season arc, but if the second season premiere was any indication, holy shit I think it'll manage. That was some amazing TV, first rate acting (esp Amy Acker, omg), some promising seeds for future story, and the kind of queasily uncomfortable storytelling I forgot to expect from this show. ( Okay, tiny casting spoiler that you probably already know. )
iCarly: Best teen-oriented show you aren't watching because it's on Nick. Yeah, I know, and the only reason I overlooked my doubts and gave it a shot is because![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
sotto_voice, whose taste I trust, was all kinds of enthusiastic about it. It's a fun show, without nearly as much obnoxious lolforthekids crap as you probably expect it to have, and a lot of clever, funny asides. And! Continuity in storytelling and characterization! If you trust me, you'll give it a try.
