Oct. 3rd, 2005 12:47 pmWell, Tram's been fired.
manderspander actually called and woke me up with the news: "Dude, the Tigers manager got fired!" ". . . oh, they did fire him? That's a shame."
And it really is. I have a strong suspicion that Tram wasn't given a chance this year, that things got out of his control right quickly and the owner, Mike Ilitch, certainly didn't help matters any in his continuing quest to kiss Ivan Rodriguez's ass every second of every day.
The plus side, though, is that he's been offered a job as special assistant to the GM, which is cool and beats the crap out of being tossed onto the trash heap.
So Amanda and I discussed this and concluded that if Tram doesn't wanna be Dombrowski's assistant, he can come to Boston. We have a third basedumbass coach desperately needs replacing, and we think Tram can do the job. We have no basis for this, we just think it would be cool.
I am not too familiar with Tram's history with the Tigers, other than knowing that he played his entire career there, so I will turn the reins over to
offspeed for that particular lecture.
