I LOVE BRANDON INGE. And remember how I wasn't speaking to him after he stranded nine men on base in one game? Well, I am speaking to him again. And here is why.

"Anyone who gives up is worthless," Brandon Inge said. "You don't deserve to wear the uniform. If there's a speck of competitiveness in you, no matter what the sport, you still have to try to kick the shit out of your opponent.
"This is our job. We get paid to do this -- and giving up wouldn't fly in any other profession. You'd be fired. They'd find someone else. People like that get weeded out, but I don't think we have any, and I don't ever want one on my team."

So. Much. Love. I hope like hell that Pudge reads Detroit News. Bitch. (Okay, now try to guess which of the above words did not actually show up in the paper, and I just made a wild guess based on context.)

Oh, and Vance also wanted us to remember that not all Tigers catchers suck at life, so he said this:

"You still have to go out and compete. We signed on to play 162 games, not 140 games and shut it down. If you're any kind of professional, it's important to show what kind of pride you have."

Actually, the article is full of quotetastic goodness and Tigers fire, and I love this team so much, and can we please trade Pudge to the Rockies for a crate of protein shakes? At least the protein shakes will make a positive contribution. Because if they don't, Brandon Inge will kick their little protein asses.
