WHOA, Crispin Glover and Robert Zemeckis are working together again.

And, because it deserves its own post:

JASON VARITEK GOT HIS FIRST CAREER GRAND SLAM.

I missed it, thanks to work, but I am so happy that I don't even care. I'll see the replay eight bajillion times anyway.

Also, Jeremy Affledt is pitching right now. LOOK OUT, AFFELDT, FARNSWORTH IS RIGHT BEHIND YOU. Ha ha, madeja look.

Anyway. I am so proud, Tek. You are the awesome.

For those of you using IE 5 on Macs and wondering what the fuck is wrong with LJ all of a sudden, here is the answer (courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] offspeed and her amazing ability to get off her duff and search for answers, which ability I do not possess):

"Users who are accessing LiveJournal via the Mac version of IE 5 are experiencing difficulty commenting. You may wish to use a different browser until this issue is resolved. Some users have reported that disabling the Quick Reply feature resolves this problem. To do this, please log in, visit the administrative console, and enter the following command: set disable_quickreply 1"

Try it! It really works! I can read LJ now without having to switch back and forth with Safari!

Um.

Alan Cumming has lost his mind.

I - kind of expected better of him.

Wow.

YAY the Tigers won TWO games in a row! Sean Douglass is back to his awesome self (seriously, this guy has been ridiculous since he came up; he's played in the majors before and sucked, but he seems to be done with that now), and allowed one run and three hits in eight innings. UnREAL. So, sorry, shiny new rookie Mariners pitcher everyone was so excited about, you lose! He was good too, with two runs and three hits in five innings, but just not quite good enough. The Tigers won it 3-1, and the best of those runs is the second one scored (text stolen from recap): "Polanco, who was hit by a pitch, stole second base in the third. He reached third on Shelton's groundout before scoring on a passed ball to make it 2-0." BWAHAHA that's great. I love him. And he also scored the first run.

Bondo starts tomorrow, so you bet I'm watching, because I am not (entirely) kidding about that luck thing. The last two starts of his I've missed? His last two losses. I am buckling down, Bondo, and I am with you all the way.

YAY the Astros won . . . uh . . . eight billion games in a row! Last night's game was a 7-0 win, and how much do I love our little Houston rookies? I'm almost sad that Brandon Backe is making progress (yeah, he's on the DL, by the way, how I didn't pick up on that I have no idea), because Ezequiel Astacio is rocking. Also, I am learning how to spell his first name, and I don't like it when my effort goes to waste (hi, Mientkiewicz). In offense, Morgan Ensberg got his twenty-eighth homerun. God, he's fun. And check out this quote:

"Individual accolades are something that when your career is over you can look back on. What I'm excited about is how the team's playing as a team. We're a team of nobodies and we're playing solid baseball."

Not only is he all about the team and hilariously blasé about his own amazing year, but come on. How many baseball players can you think of who go around using phrases like "individual accolades" to the press? I will say it again: My Houston boyfriend.
