Tonight's Red Sox starting pitcher, Matt Clement, just took a nasty line drive to the head. Reports are coming in that he is conscious, alert, and aware of his surroundings and what happened, so that's good, but shit that was scary. He just dropped. And that ball was hit so hard. And pitchers don't wear helmets.

We love you Matt and we hope you're okay. And I personally also feel badly for Carl Crawford, who hit the line drive in question. That poor guy. What an awful thing.

Update on Matty in case someone hasn't heard yet:

He was conscious the whole time. A CAT scan came back negative, and he's in good spirits. They're keeping him overnight for observation.

Well, fuck it, I'm not doing it right now. Two-day catchup post coming tomorrow. I need time to digest this.

We did win, though, so Matt won't have to forcefeed his hospital food breakfast to Schilling as punishment.
