Jun. 2nd, 2005 04:35 pmDAVID ORTIZ I AM GOING TO KISS YOU.
I got home from work today after running around madly after buses and bus stops and being on the phone to my coworker and to my bank because guess what? I lost my ID case. Yeah, that one with all my ID and my debit card in it. I mean, it's not that bad - I got a block put on my debit card, and frankly I needed a new social security card (had it since I was three, it has my signature in my mom's handwriting) and photo ID (old address) anyway, and I don't have any credit cards or anything. But, come on, how much does that suck anyway? I am temporarily bereft of identity, and there's not anything more I can do right now.
So I come home freaking out, and call my mom to have her bring down my birth certificate and such this weekend, and I put on the game. Tied at three with Keith on the mound. Swell. I turn the game off. Talk to Mom more. Put the game back on. 4-3 Baltimore in the ninth. AWESOME. I kind of ignore it while I talk to Mom. Guys get on base. Ortiz comes to the mound.
"So I'll see you Su - DAVID ORTIZ JUST WON THE GAME WITH A WALKOFF THREE-RUN HOMER!!!"
I feel eight thousand kinds of better now. Thank you, Papi.
(Also, the Tigers won 6-5 in extra innings. YAY! They play the Orioles next, so I have to look at them for another three days. First the Yankees, now the Orioles. Other teams do exist for my boys to play against, right?)
