Mar. 5th, 2005 04:03 pmSince my plan for the day is to drink Malibu and OJ until my eyes no longer focus (or I get sick of it, whatever), I thought I'd get this post out of the way early. I really want to post at least once a day until life gets in my way and I can't, so that means that y'all get to look at random posts like this one.
Of course, when all else fails and I have nothing to say about my actual day - which is, you know, most days, because Cumberland Farms is not so much the brilliant topic for conversation - it's baseball time. The nice thing about this particular obsession is that there's always something to talk about. I could only say so much about, say, a movie or TV show, but baseball is ongoing.
I flipped through the papers today, and found the following amusing caption in the Boston Globe under a picture of Curt Schilling (accompanying something about testifying about steroid use, whatever, I still don't care, so I didn't read it too closely): "Schilling has his own opinions." Schilling? Has OPINIONS? No way!
Both the Globe and the Herald have a story about how there are too many starting pitchers for the rotation (six guys, five slots), and if Miller proves healthy and able to start, there will have to be a decision made about who gets into the rotation and who gets shifted to the bullpen. The consensus seems to be that it'll come down to a choice between Tim Wakefield and Bronson Arroyo. I mention this only due to my sudden and unreasonable love for Bronson (who, incidentally, is starting tonight's exhibition game, yay!), because I don't know enough about pitching to have, like, an intelligent and informed opinion or anything. Both articles argue pretty well in favor of giving the slot to Wakefield. I'd love to see Bronson get it, but, really, whatever's better for the team.
