And then sometimes I'm glad that I joined a scary fangirl community. Because this? Almost made coffee come out of my nose.

In other news, my sister got pulled over for speeding last night, on the way home from work. I was in her car too 'cos she'd picked me up. It was very stupid. Chelsea's a good driver; it was just one of those moments where the car is going a lot faster than you think it is. She's sixteen, and not quite off the probationary period for her license, and she just sat there crying. It's a good thing the lady cop was nice, or my protective older sister instincts would have gotten us both in more trouble. She did have to see my ID, though -

"And how old is the passenger?"
Me, wearing polite face: "The passenger is twenty-one."

But even though Chelsea's not supposed to have passengers yet, I'm her sister so that's okay.

So she's gotten whacked with a steep fine and might lose her license for a little while. All because she went forty-one in a twenty-five zone for, like, THREE SECONDS.

On the plus side, at least the cop didn't ask to see the little tin we pulled out of the glove compartment to find the registration. Because that's where Mom keeps her pot. I checked it after we were let go, and it was empty, but you could still smell what generally lives there.

But how much must that suck? You go through all the stuff you have to go through to become a cop, and you have all these grand ideas about upholding and defending the law, and maybe there's even a history of policing in your family, and then? You get to make your living making sixteen year old girls cry.
