[livejournal.com profile] aefallen has made me a gorgeous icon. See! *points up* It's the same idea as my Harry "track three" icon, but lots prettier, and a little less mean.

Also, unless I miss my guess, I do believe it's my very frst animated icon ever. =D

I'm so happy . . .

Oh, and I did watch that copy of Rebel Without a Cause. This in itself is a cause for surprise, as I have this habit of checking movies out from the library, keeping them for the full week, and not watching them.

As an added bonus, RWaC is really good. I totally forgot that I was watching An Important Cinematic Classic, which as far as I'm concerned is the definition of a real classic right there. If you can forget while you're watching or reading something that it has been deemed A Major Contribution to Literature/Society/Popular Culture/Whatever, then it deserves that status. If, on the other hand, you keep thinking, "I am absorbing something Important," then either it's not that good or time has rendered it irrelevent.

But RWaC is engrossing and quite wrenching. The script is good, the acting is phenomenal (both Natalie Wood and Sal Mineo were Oscar-nominated for their roles), and the story doesn't really follow all the conventions you'd expect and you're never quite sure where it's going the first time you watch. There were a couple scenes where I was wide-eyed, heart pounding in agonized anticipation and hope that it would somehow all work out all right. I was even able to overlook the typical overblown fifties-movie soundtrack.

My only complaint is that the copy I have is on tape, so it's full-screen. =P I'm goig to buy this on DVD when I get a chance.
