Jul. 26th, 2004 04:01 pmMy weekend in random bullet form. Wedding stuff first:
* Wedding v. lovely. Procession organized about five minutes prior to marching. I was first. >.< Did not trip or go too fast. Did end up marching for a good thirty seconds without music, going, 'Look less nervous as hell, and more pleasant and overjoyed to be here . . . step-stop, step-stop . . . WHERE IS THE MUSIC?! YO, MINSTREL! WE'RE PROCESSING OVER HERE! . . . step-stop . . . thank you.'
* Ceremony v. sweet. Also short, even with nice poetry and singing and bride and groom with self-written vows. The only way to make a sweet, happy ceremony better is to make it a sweet, happy, reasonably short ceremony.
* Bride's dress beautiful. Groom's outfit dashing. Both handmade. =D
* Reception fun. Was capable of socializing at a party for once in my life. Finally got to meet nieces of bride about whom I have been hearing stories for years. Made friends with oldest, five year old Hannah. Such a cutie. =D
Non-wedding stuff:
* OMG I own Freaks and Geeks now YAY.
* I got to see Fahrenheit 9/11! I thought I'd never get to see it, but I happened to be in the right place at the right time. Now if that dumbass thinking-for-myself?-what's-that? Republican (you know, the kind who gives Republicans a bad name) who likes to get on my nerves tries to sling shit at the movie again, I can shoot him down, serene in the knowledge that I know what I'm talking about and he bloody well doesn't.
* I also have a potential job opportunity for when I move back down to Portland in September. Where waiting for the movie to start, I wandered into this little variety store across the street, and ended up chatting with and befriending the manager and discovering that she would be looking for a "non-crazy person" to apply in fall. Which, based on what I saw of one applicant, and what she told me of another, is a rather more stringent criteria than one might think. *g*
* I can't believe I missed all the awesome shit that went down during the weekend Red Sox/Yankees games! 'Course, that doesn't mean I can't still flaunt an icon, because kids? MY BOY TEK GAVE A-ROD WHAT FOR. I am so proud.
