Apr. 26th, 2004 03:44 pmNo. More often. Really. At least, I will when I don't randomly come down with some mysterious digestive parasite/virus/whatever that takes five days to clear up, and doesn't make me sick enough to allow me to skip work, but saps me of the energy required to drag my ass down to the library. It was not fun.
The Red Sox/Yankees series was fun, though. I was on the phone with
manderspander for much of the first two, which is always a blast. And much as we enjoyed the sweeping of the Yanks in their own field, and the stellar bullpen and defense, and the way the Yankees just couldn't seem to get their heads out of their asses enough to compensate and take advantage of the fact that our boys weren't doing so hot in the actual hitting-the-ball part of the game, our very favourite moment? Toward the beginning of game one, Johnny Damon steals his way up to second - and Jeter's not on time to tag him out, so he cops a feel instead. We DIED. I mean, yeah, there's probably possibly a perfectly heterosexual explanation for Jeter's running his hand down Johnny's back allowing it to linger on the small of his back for quite some time, but damned if we can think of it.
Don't even get me started on what this has to do with A-Rod's improvement, or Jeter's record slump. I'm not capable of just watching baseball, I have to turn it into a big gay soap opera. It's fuuuun. Especially when it doesn't take a whole lot of effort.
