Hmm. I forgot about how those job things can get in the way of, you know, doing stuff. Like getting online so I can update my damn journal once in a while.

In other news, the game on Saturday was INSANE. Such. Drama. Of course I can't seem to find any articles to link, but that's okay, just find a copy of any paper from last Sunday. The Boston Herald is good, if you can get it. I've been reading it for the past week, because of course it has approximately a jillion articles on the Sox every day. It's fun.

But as entertaining as all the drama and frantic discussion (Did Martinez hit Garcia with the ball on purpose? Did he go overboard defending himself from Zimmer? Does Ramirez realize that if Roger Clemens wanted to hit him with the ball, he'd have hit him with the damn ball? And what exactly did Garcia and Nelson do to that Fenway employee in the dugout, anyway?) has been, it was nice to see last night's game be calm and businesslike. We've gotten the crap out of our systems, now we're playing ball. And by "we," I of course mean, "it's been a month and I still can't quite believe that I now actually watch, enjoy, and care about baseball."

Speaking of which, a quick open letter.

Dear Nomar Garciaparra,

Please pull the bat out of your ass and start using it already. Seriously. You're such a legendarily great ball player already that even those who don't give a crap about baseball know your name. Unfortunately, in the entire month since I started watching the game, I have yet to see you demonstrate why you have earned that status. I don't mean to sound harsh, as I am prepared and eager to love you every bit as much as I already love Jason Varitek and Johnny Damon, but you gotta give us something here. Do what you gotta do to get out of the bad headspace you're in and show me why I've heard your name every year since eighth grade on.

Love,
Cathryn

Sigh.

Anyway. The Sox won yesterday, which ties the championship series and brings them even with the EEEEEEEVILLLLL Yankees (now when I say "damn Yankees," I shall be referring to more than just the musical), and I'm sure most of you have stopped reading already. Fine. Then I won't tell you about how I've been suppressing my instinctive fangirl urge to bring in the slash. And no, it doesn't help to delineate the difference between fictional and factual television. Trust me. I've tried that.

Anyway. My new job seems okay so far. It has an annoying dress code so strict that at first I didn't get why they don't just distrbute uniforms, but as I began training I came to realize that it's because I work for the cheapest company ever, but that's okay because I get free movie rentals and am allowed to rent movies before the street date. I watched Matrix: Reloaded Saturday, and it just came out today. I'm not saying this was necessarily a good thing, as the coolest thing about the movie turned out to be the fact that I was seeing it days in advance, but still. With any luck at all, I'll still be there at the end of November, so I can quench my PotC craving days before anyone else.

Anyway. I can feel myself losing my train of thought, so I'll just quit now and hope I can get in the next entry before another week passes.

Oh yeah, and go Red Sox!
