I am going to hell. I'm going to hell because I started laughing when I found this link at Something Awful. But here's why I started laughing:
Dean Koontz had this idea first.
A few years ago, he wrote a novel entitled False Memory. It has a psychologist as a major character. One of his patients is a woman obsessed with Keanu Reeves, a throwaway character who had me rolling my eyes. If I remember correctly, she thought Keanu was stalking her. At the end of the story, she shoots and kills someone. The reason?
She thought she was in the Matrix.
We are now living in a Dean Koontz novel, kids. Isn't that one of the signs of the Apocalypse?
