Torchwood drabble! Back to the Owen in the recent past 'verse. No spoilers for Torchwood. Kind of obtuse spoilers for the final three-ep arc of Doctor Who's series three.
There's something Owen isn't saying.
That's fine by Jack. He hardly expects every detail from Owen about that trip into the past. He'll get most of it from Ianto eventually, anyway. But this one isn't about disclosure. This is something Owen needs to let go.
Jack dredges up old Time Agent training, time travel and temporal anomalies, and there. He knows what it is.
Oh god, Owen.
He looks into Owen's eyes and says,
"Toclafane."
Owen goes very still, and Jack finds too late that he doesn't want to hear it.

There's no doubt in my mind that Ianto used sex to keep Jack occupied and away from Lisa. He knows a thing or two about using every available resource, and sex is pretty much the best possible defense against Jack.
I re-watched "Cyberwoman" a couple of weeks ago, and there is just no way that Jack knew about Lisa. He took the threat she represented very seriously. If he had known, he undoubtedly would have gone down and killed her as soon as he'd found out. So, yeah, Ianto kept her completely secret for a year. Just don't think about it.
That kind of works to my advantage, though, fic-wise, since it implies that Torchwood is gifuckingnormous and makes it waaaay more plausible that Owen could hide out there for months on end without being discovered. The only reason Ianto finds him is because he's going down to see Lisa. Also, it leads to Owen thinking, Hey, if he could hide her, he can hide me. So in that way, it does work in my favor pretty conveniently, I must admit.

I nearly died laughing. 2x12, every guy ends up in a compromising position with Jack. (But then there were proto-Torchwood lesbians!).
Excellent that the Plot-hole of Doom has some use to you--I like your fics better than canon already. ^_~

Yeah, the ep definitely solidified my Jack/Owen shipping. Which, considering that I love Owen and think Jack is a bastard, is hilarious, but UST that sparks more than a certain canon relationship cannot be denied!

Heh. Normally I'd be all "I'm not worthy!", but in Torchwood's case, it's just not that hard to improve on canon. XD

. . . I think I kind of killed the metaphor somewhere in there, but you know what I mean.
