My last day at Lampron's is a week from today. I'm so happy.

(Unless, of course, I get fired for missing the second rescheduling of a mandatory meeting that I don't give a flying fuck about because I'm leaving, which the manager doesn't seem to understand. I would not be sad.)

In other news: A little while ago, the Dropkick Murphys recorded a song called "Tessie," which was, from what I understand, kind of the rallying song for the Red Sox and their fans back in the early nineteen hundreds. You know, back when they still won the occasional World Series. I believe the idea is that resurrecting the song will resurrect our luck. I finally got hold of a copy of it a couple of days ago (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] manderspander)! Even if it doesn't work out, it's still a good song, and has the amusing benefit of having several of the actual Sox singing along on the chorus.

Tessie, Nuff Ced McGreevy shouted
We're not here to mess around
Boston, you know we love you madly
Hear the crowd roar to your sound
Don't blame us if we ever doubt you
You know we couldn't live without you

Boston, you are the only, only, only

Says everything right there, really.

Incidentally, I'm going there a week from Saturday.

Dude, next time we catch each other on AOL -- whenever that may be as I'm rarely on anymore these days -- you gotta send me that mp3.

BTW, 10.5 -> 5.5? Priceless. And if you're a Sox fan, you gotta know what that means.
