. . . has it really been a week since I've posted?
Well, that's because nothing has happened. Worked all week, so it was pretty much:
Get up. Make coffee. Watch episode or two of Freaks and Geeks. Lunch. Shower. Work. Work. Work. Work. Come home. Go online. Stay online too late. Go to bed. Aren't you all sad I didn't post every detail about that?
There was a minor variation on Wednesday - I got a ride from a coworker to my sister's work, and went to a nearby bar/club thing called Rick's, where I discovered that they had the game on. So I had a couple drinks and watched the end of the game from the bar. The Sox lost, but it was still fun and something I must do more often once I move to Portland.
However, I got hold of
comme_un_buddha - er, Betsey and invited her up this weekend, and also asked her if she would be willing to help me with music piracy, since I lack a CD burner. She was, so now I own a CD full of songs I've listened to a bajillion times this summer and was sad to think about not having anymore. =D
And while we were collaborating on making that Friday night, I did some RPing with
watcher_shadow. We have a little three/four person Spider-Man game going on; 'tis an AU movieverse, set shortly after the first movie. I get to play Norman. Norman is mean. It's so much fun.
Last nght, Betsey picked me up from work and we went to Rick's, since it's the only place within an hour's radius open past like nine, and discovered that on the weekend, there's a bouncer and a cover charge. And the bouncer turned out to be from Yarmouth, which just proves that you can never escape home no matter where you go. He'd gone to Yarmouth High, too, and asked us what year we'd graduated; I said I had in 2003, since it is technically the correct answer, even though I never really considered myself a member of that class and it makes me sound younger than I am.
So as we were leaving (after, among other things, we sat in a bar discussing George/Marty at the tops of our lungs *GGG*), the bouncer stopped us.
"If you graduated in 2003, aren't you too young to be drinking?"
I don't remember my explanation, because frankly I'm a lightweight and I drank on an empty stomach (I didn't get drunk, but my memory is terrible in the best of circumstances, so it doesn't take much alcohol to make things worse), but I assume I made sense because he didn't call the cops. *g*
Today we got up late, then went out to lunch, wandered around what passes for the tourist trap in Naples (like, a shop, an arcade, and multiple eateries), I demonstrated my ineptitude at arcade games (sorry for making you look like a puss, Cyclops), then we came home and watched MST3K and Willard. Betsey finally got around to seeing it a little while ago, and I am proud to report that she has finally caught the Crispin bug. I knew she would. =D
I have tomorrow and most of Tuesday off, and then much working again.
My last day at Lampron's, for those of you keeping track, is the first of September. I am moving the second, and shall thus have highly limited computer access, but shall be looking into computer rentals at Rent-A-City. I'll be bringing this up again as the time draws nearer.
