What I want to know is, if the Sox were looking to improve their defense why did they trade away one of their better defensive players? I would think that you could have gotten almost as good a deal with Manny Ramirez, who's at least as good a hitter as Nomar but nothing spectacular on defense.
If they had to trade him to any team though, I'm glad the Cubs got him. Unless of course it turns into a Cubs vs. Sox World Series, in which case it might come back to bite Boston in the ass and Nomar will join the ranks of Babe Ruth as one of the players that the team really should have held on to.
