Wow. I randomly decided to get Silence of the Lambs when I was wandering through the library's bookshelves the other day, and man am I glad I did. What a great book. If you haven't read it, do. You'll be glad you did, too.

Wow. I randomly decided to get Silence of the Lambs when I was wandering through the library's bookshelves the other day, and man am I glad I did. What a great book. If you haven't read it, do. You'll be glad you did, too.

I don't plan on seeing the movie, though; even though I have, for the last couple of weeks, been drawn to scary movies (which is <i<>such a stupid idea, I had a hard time with them even before The Ring) I'm trying to hold myself back from renting stuff that looks/is widely known for being too scary. While I did try Cabin Fever over the weekend (I had to, I got it for my sister and said I'd watch it with her, and she insisted that I hold to that), I completely lucked out: It's not really that scary, just deeply gross. It was even pretty funny when I managed to relax enough to pay attention. I'm going to try it again; I'll be able to watch it for real now that I know what to expect, and I think I might like it.

Okay, and we're definitely moving now. Dad's been talked into it. We're staying in Yarmouth (but it'll be a much longer walk to the library, grr). It's a much nicer place, though, and it has a bsement, so I can store all my stuff down there instead of keeping it in a pile in my room that just barely leaves enough space for me! Maybe now I'll have enough room to get a pet rat. We had one when I was a kid and I'd like to give it another go. (And I am really going to try to resist the urge to get a white rat and name it Socrates, because that crosses a fannish line that I just don't feel comfortable with crossing.) Plus the responsibility would be good for me; maybe having to keep things clean and livable for my rat would get me to start doing the same for myself. Because I am a SLOB.

Oooh, if you like Silence, than Hannibal should be next on your list of must-reads. It's absolute poetry!
