Today I stopped by campus because they had a poster sale set up, and I found the best poster ever.

I don't know why it never occurred to me that this should be a poster, but it didn't. And if it had, I wouldn't have expected to find it here, because I am still not used to the fact that Doctor Who is finally becoming mainstream enough in the States that merchandise can sometimes be found in brick-and-mortar stores.
I'll smooth it out later, once I've found the energy to shift the Labyrinth poster over a little. I use posters not only because I like them, but to strategically conceal random matted prints that appear to be adhered to the walls with superglue or something, so I can only get them so smooth, but I think I can do a little better in the left corner there.
Also, in case you care, this is the painting up in the right hand corner. I am not generally a person who cares about paintings, but I adore that one. I have it as my laptop wallpaper. I kinda liked Van Gogh's stuff prior to the DW ep, inasmuch as I like any painter (I've had that "Bedroom at Arles" print since I was like eighteen), but I'd never really looked all that closely at more than a couple of his paintings before. Seriously, even if "Vincent and the Doctor" weren't one of my all-time favorite episodes of television anyway, I would love it for sending me on the meandering search for information that turned up "Starry Night Over the Rhone." The print on my wall is kind of cheap and dark - this is possibly the only time in history that PhotoBooth has made anything look better - but that Wikipedia file is lovely quality and makes a great wallpaper. When I catch it out of the corner of my eye, or in a quick glance, the colors trick my brain into thinking it's a photograph despite the brushstrokes.
. . . the fake TARDIS painting is not that good, but I don't even care, it's the most marvelously geeky bit of art I have ever owned, and that makes it awesome.
