Right, so! I've had about damn well enough. I've stayed at LJ as long as I have because I am stubborn and resistant to change. Now, though, the hassles of changing my main journal to Dreamwidth are finally outweighed by the hassles of sticking with LJ.

lienne insists I share the awkward metaphor and/or simile (I am the best English major EVER) I came up with in AIM summing up my feelings about LJ and DW's respective approaches to customer service as of today, so:

catslash33: Man. I've been willing to stick with LJ through a lot of stupid shit, but I cannot with this. I really like what I've seen of Dreamwidth! Now it's like LJ is dumping buckets of freezing water over our heads, and DW is waving at us all, "Come here and get a cup of hot chocolate and a hug!" I don't want the freezing water anymore.



I'm not hard to please! All I ask is that you don't actively dump ice water on my head! And now LJ can't even manage that.

So I'm still have some LJ presence - I'll keep reading my flist and I'll be crossposting for the time being - but Dreamwidth is my home now. I even made a new journal to accommodate the name change I agonized over at LJ for SO LONG: remindmeofthe

As soon as I get paid (and the bank reopens post-Christmas so I can put my pay into my account), I'm upgrading my DW account to paid and moving all of my icons there, and using DW as my base. Because, fuck this.

I may have just turned all of my accounts (all 40 of them) on LJ to basic. No idea if that'll hurt LJ even a tiny bit, but fuck it, it makes me feel better.

I have...no idea where I'll RP (I'm still M'ways-ing, but pretty much the only thing I have is MM), but for the rest of my online journaling, it's going to be DW.

Yeah. As soon as I have money again, DW is getting some of it. LJ is never getting any of it again.

I'll keep up my (minimal, heh) presence at Milliways, but otherwise, meh. I've got that EP going at MM, but I'm going to make a post at DW to switch it to for anyone I'm threading with who cares enough to follow (which includes you! *hopeful face*), because I just cannot look at RP threads on LJ right now.

. . . and of course I'll be sandboxing it at DW, as I've been doing for some time now.

I may, MAY, re:buy Trudy's paid account, just so all of her extra icon time I bought her doesn't go to waste, but that'll be it. Forever and ever, that'll be fucking IT.
