Sarah Jane Adventures!
This wasn't as good as the first half of the story; the resolution was a little pat, and while compassion is a good lesson for a kids' show to teach and consistently reinforce, I think asking us to feel sorry for someone who had committed countless genocides via planetary destruction because his own planet had a crappy sun (seriously, it just randomly died while he was out travelling in space? How long was he gone? How could he possibly have been the only member of his species out there? FAIL) was a BIT much.
Two things I did like:
* The Judoon sentencing Rani, Clyde, and Luke to "restriction to planet Earth" was hilarious. Clyde: "We're grounded?"
* The reactions of the security guards and the Chandras to seeing the Judoon. They didn't say "OMG WTF are those?!" They said "HOLY SHIT ALIENS." At this point in the Whoniverse, having anyone not jump to the conclusion that they are seeing an alien when they are, in fact, seeing an alien would be straining credulity. To put it mildly. I mean, yeah, you're gonna get people who will somehow still manage to be in denial, because there are ALWAYS people like that, but by now, if any of the shows or specials in this 'verse try to portray the modern human race in general as not believing in aliens, I will wonder what show(s) the writer's been watching. I kind of expected Gita and Haresh (as his first name FINALLY gets spoken aloud again in what is probably the first time since his freaking introduction) to be surprised that Sarah Jane and Co appeared not to believe them, but I guess they were kind of still in shock.
Next week's story looks interesting, even if the preview was kind of incoherent. I'm always up for an It's a Wonderful Life rip-off; it's a secret favorite cliché of mine. Though I really hope future!Rani's reference to a "demon" was an exaggeration of some kind, because wtf is this, Torchwood? It's hard enough getting TW to pick a genre and stick to it, SJA better not start pulling that shit, too.
