Right, so, oops with the not posting for over a month. I've never done that before. But I'm not dead. Plus, I have a new layout finally, and it's the first non-baseball layout I've had since I first turned this into a paid journal in 2004. I also edited my profile to be less tl;dr and more - well, cryptic, I guess, since I've never been much good at describing myself. There is also a new mood theme, partially completed and still in progress.

I shall endeavor to get back into the swing of posting. A month is just ridiculous.

ANYWAY. I have an important question about the Doctor Who series four finale, which never got asked in my episode review because I was too gutted and FUCKING FURIOUS to write a proper review. (Also, I think eventually I remembered and forgot again, as you shall see under the cut.) But I have to know:

When did Mickey and Jack meet? They greet each other with such enthusiasm that you'd think I'd, like, remember. But Mickey didn't go travelling on the TARDIS till series two, long after Jack got stranded in time to wait until he could get his own show. (Sorry it wasn't really worth the wait, Jack.) Is this a reference to some extra bit that I missed, like a book or a sketch or something? Or have I spontaneously forgotten an entire chunk of either show's history?

Okay, I remembered, but I refuse to dump the entry or rewrite, so I shall use the strike-out trick and ask this instead: I haven't watched "Boom Town" in a while, because I kind of seriously hate the Slitheen and prefer to pretend that they don't exist outside of SJA's "The Lost Boy" story. And that's only because the slim-line suits = NO MORE FART JOKES THANK GOD. Uh, so, anyway, my modified question is, did Mickey and Jack do any bonding that I don't remember? Or is that enthusiastic greeting just another example of how much the characterization in "Journey's End" suuuuuuucks? Along with almost everything else about the ep? HATE.

Okay, that's all. I'm gonna go back to watching some of the most ill-conceived television I've watched since . . . Torchwood.

(Wow, random and gratuitous Torchwood bashing is a go. I was griping about TW earlier with [livejournal.com profile] karaokegal and I guess I'm still feeling a tad aggressive.)

Maybe a comic?

It was an ep, just a very forgettable one. As demonstrated by my forgetting it. XD

YouTube ftw! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1H0K7Y_AFQ Get the highlights w/out torturing yourself w/ the whole ep. :D

"What are you captain of? The innuendo squad?!"

♥ That is amazing and I love you. It will be just the thing to cheer myself up once I finish "Journey's End." (I keep finding something else to do, so it's taking forever, but I'm getting there.) God, what a miserable clusterfuck of an episode.

They appear to be bonding in the restaurant scene just before Nine sees the picture in the paper and says "And I was having such a nice day." Mickey has stopped being pissy and is enjoying Jack's story. I think that's pretty much their only interaction. After that it's the "military action" and then the Mickey/Rose stuff.

I actually don't mind the episode, except that Jack's hair makes me shudder, so I have to avert my eyes down to his more acceptable features.
