Torchwood drabble, set in the universe of yesterday's drabble, with the premise being that, with Owen finding himself deposited in the recent past, it seems easier and less potentially messy just to wait it out. (Hey, if Ianto can hide Lisa and a freaking cyberconversion unit for months, he can certainly help keep one small Owen and no unwieldy electronics concealed.)

No explicit Torchwood spoilers familiar through 2x07 helpful etc. Spoilers for the final three-ep arc of series three of Doctor Who.



There's a doctor in Cardiff, if you can get to him. If you can get through the rubble and escape the notice of the Toclafane. If you can find the people who know him, who can get you there. His practice is underground, filled with things that would have seemed impossible six months ago. He takes care of Cardiff, and he knows Martha Jones. His hands are cold and his face pale and he never smiles, but he will tell you if you ask, about Martha and her Doctor. And he will promise you that they will fix everything.

Oh, wow. That's so--wow. I'd never even imagined you'd go there, but you went there, and it's gorgeous.

I'm just so fascinated by it! Owen's biggest problem is the tedium of waiting (heh, and the joy of reliving his finest moments through an increasingly disgruntled Ianto), until one day when the team doesn't come back from the Himalayas when they're supposed to. And all of a sudden, the familiar has vanished and been replaced by this horrible nightmare world, and Owen is the only person on the planet who knows that it isn't supposed to be like this.

Dude, I couldn't NOT go there. I'm thinking I might have to do more than just drabbles with this, if I can figure out the right angle. Just a series of freestyle ficlets, maybe.

And you should totally get an Owen icon. All the cool kids have Owen icons!
