"No Country for Old Men" drabble

I swear I got things accomplished in Spanish today. Really. It's just, along with marvelling over Javrey during the lab, I also ended up writing a No Country for Old Men drabble during class. I blame Javrey.

No title. It's a drabble.

RATING: PG-13
PAIRING: Carson Wells/Anton Chigurh
SUMMARY: He knows Chigurh better than anyone.
NOTES: I think I need to go bar my doors and windows now. Seriously, ficcing a character is supposed to make him LESS intimidating.
DISCLAIMER: No Country for Old Men was originally created by Cormac McCarthy. I make no claims otherwise.

Carson Wells had never seen Anton Chigurh kill - no one who lived had - but he'd seen the aftermath. To the practiced eye, the way a man killed told a story more intimate than most people would ever want to get with a killer.

Wells prided himself on understanding Chigurh long before they met. When Chigurh first followed him to his hotel room on November twenty-eighth, Wells got just what he expected. Chigurh fucked like he killed, brutally efficient.

The second time he followed Wells to his hotel room, Wells wished like hell that he'd left Chigurh's story for someone else.

Ah, that was lovely. Ever since reading the book I've always thought that Anton/Carson was practically canon, and the movie just solidified it XD It's also good to know I'm not the only one writing for these two lol. Great work :D

It totally is! I mean, there has to be some reason why Wells knows so much about Chigurh and how efficient and relentless he is, and yet makes such a fatal mistake. And the thing about not really filling us in on a lot of character motivation is that we get to invent our own! :D

I appreciate the comment; it really helped perk up a lousy day. Thanks!

I know! I find it hard to believe that he would know so much from doing only a few jobs together lol. I've been trying to wrap my head around what their past might have been like, and the possibilities are tantalizing (especially if you go off the book). Someone should try writing it XD

No problem! I'm glad I could help :D

You're writing Anton stuff? Are there links available? :D

Lol, I have written quite a few Anton/Carson tidbits, but unfortunately I haven't really done anything with them. They're written in the style of the book and are mostly based off the book, and more people have seen the movie so they might not "appreciate" the style XD

Ah, book!Chigurh. ;) I have been trying to acclimate myself to CM's writing style, although the lack of quotation marks and the use of very extended sentences does frequently make me want to howl with frustration. ;)

With that said, I'll take anything Anton-related. *snerk*

I know, it took me a bit to get the hang of his writing, but when I did I didn't want to read anything else XD

I might post some stuff, if I can get up the courage lol
