Torchwood is really pouring on the awesomeness of Rhys. He's going from this character that was just sort of in the background last series to being important this series.

He's going to die, isn't he?

(Note: Observations based on new eps. Speculation based on the fact that I have watched TV before. I have not read any spoilers - or, for that matter, actually finished watching this episode. I swear!)

Such as exactly that--he's the closest thing Torchwood has to a real person, and that makes him amazing.
