Brought to my attention by [livejournal.com profile] ayrdaomei:

You know that throwaway bit in The Boondock Saints, where one of the guys tells someone, "Keep the faith, man," and the answer he receives is, "Fuckin' blow me."?

I think that dude put together the Yankees 2008 schedule placeholder.

Click it while you can; I assume it's a hack job and will be gone before I have time to upload the snapshot I took. At least, that I hope I took. I'm not sure it saved and I don't have time to check. I'll keep the tab open for later.

I've never seen that movie.

[identity profile] remindmeofthe.livejournal.com 2007-11-09 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, dude, you should check it out. It's a lot of fun and has some stellar acting. Plus, hot Irish twins. And tons of blood and swearing mixed with moral examinations and Willem Dafoe as a bitchy gay FBI agent. There is no bad here.

And for Mainers, it has some local appeal, since one of our local-guys-made-celebrity, Bob Marley (no, not that Bob Marley) has a very funny minor role as a clueless detective with a big mouth. Who makes a Patriots joke that became dated like thirty seconds after the movie was released.

There you go. Just in case.

Personally I think this one (http://pics.livejournal.com/offspeed/pic/000y7egh) is funnier.

Hi. I don't really know you but you seem to like slash and the Red Sox so I'm gonna go ahead and add you.

What's up?

[identity profile] remindmeofthe.livejournal.com 2007-11-09 04:36 pm (UTC)(link)
No one who uploads Spice Girls songs can be a bad person. Welcome to the flist. *g*

[identity profile] edgeoflovely.livejournal.com 2007-11-10 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
Am I reading this right? You? A Spice Girls fan? No way.

[identity profile] remindmeofthe.livejournal.com 2007-11-10 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, it was my sister who was into them, big-time. It kind of annoyed me at the time, but now it's a source of nostalgia.

[identity profile] lissa-ann.livejournal.com 2007-11-09 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, I'm a friend of [livejournal.com profile] catslash and happened to be reading this comment, and noticed you said you like slash and the Red Sox, so I'd like to add you, too.

I also have my own community for my slash fics, [livejournal.com profile] lissas_fics, since I'm doing [livejournal.com profile] slash_100. I'm doing RPS, Jason Varitek. I have...23 stories out of the 100 done. It's friends only, but as long as you're 18 or older, I'll approve you.

[identity profile] seth.livejournal.com 2007-11-09 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw, Varitek is awesome. Of course I'll add you. Any Sox fan is okay by me.

So do you only write Varitek slash? Who do you pair him with? I'd love to read a Beckett/Varitek fic if you've ever written one.

[identity profile] lissa-ann.livejournal.com 2007-11-09 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
He's my boy. :)

I've written one Wake/Doug. And one Matt Clement/Billy Mueller, although that one's PG-13, mostly for language. I just like Jason. I don't know what it is about him...I like to think about what he's like when he's off the field.

Tek/Belli is my OTP, although I've written Jason/Derek Lowe, Jason/Eric Hinske, Jason/Matt Mantei (my first slash), Jason/Bronson, Jason/Kevin Millar/Keith Foulke (yes, a threeway)...I think those are all my combinations.

Someone did write a two part Josh/Jason story, I know it was posted to [livejournal.com profile] theboysofsummer, but don't know when/where right now. Once I get home from work, I'll find it and leave you the link.

And I'll see what I can do for Jason/Josh. :)

[identity profile] seth.livejournal.com 2007-11-09 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
My OTP is definately Beckett/Pedroia. They're my favorite pair of Sox. ;) Don't ask.. just don't ask..

I just can't get enough of Dustin. I don't know why. (I'm wearing my Pedroia away jersey right now!) I just love him. Meh.

[identity profile] lissa-ann.livejournal.com 2007-11-10 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry. I just can't think of little Dustin sexually. Just can't do it. Everyone just towers over him, and all's I can think of is him being submissive. And I just don't think that's what he's like.

[identity profile] seth.livejournal.com 2007-11-10 04:00 am (UTC)(link)
I don't think that that (being gay sex) is what any of them like (I mean, they're not A-Rod for christ sake!) but I can see Dustin in a more submissive role if I put my mind to it. He reminds me of that slightly irritating kid brother that everyone has that's always a little over eager to impress.

[identity profile] akatonbo.livejournal.com 2007-11-10 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
...so, uh, what's the setting/premise for the Wakefield/Mirabelli story? (I am still a mite lerry of RPS, but, um. Personal catcher. I mean.)

[identity profile] lissa-ann.livejournal.com 2007-11-10 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Heh.

Basically, the personal catcher thing. Blowing and hand jobs before Tim pitches.

If you'd like to give me your e-mail address, I could mail it to you...

[identity profile] akatonbo.livejournal.com 2007-11-10 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
I could go for that. (I, er, know exactly what I'd write about if I were going to write about such things. But I never even get around to writing regular fanfic, and half the reason why I mostly can't do the RPF thing is because I can't bend my mind around the idea of an actual canon for it, so I continue my cautious tiptoeing ways.)

As I said, I didn't write it, but my lovely friend [livejournal.com profile] shellygirl814 did.

web geekiness

[identity profile] annarama.livejournal.com 2007-11-09 05:18 pm (UTC)(link)
so in that URL you posted:
http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/schedule/tentative.jsp?c_id=nyy&year=2008%20(We'll%20Choke%20Again%20Anyway) (http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/schedule/tentative.jsp?c_id=nyy&year=2008%20(We'll%20Choke%20Again%20Anyway))

if you edit the text in parenthesis at the end of the URL you can make it say whatever you want. for instance:

http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/schedule/tentative.jsp?c_id=nyy&year=2008%20(Jeter likes bananas) (http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/schedule/tentative.jsp?c_id=nyy&year=2008%20(Jeter likes bananas))

it's not on the MLB server or anything. it's just a silly jsp thing you can do individually on your computer. (and send the links to whoever you want.)

Aw, darn, they fixed it now, too.

God damn, that's funny.
