Considerate coworkers are awesome, aren't they? Too bad it only takes one rotten, drugged-out apple to spoil the batch. This is extra depressing when the rot was concealed by healing flesh for so long we thought it was all healing, including the apple itself. To stretch a metaphor dangerously thin.

It's a long story that I don't really want to get into right now, but I got extra hours last week thanks to Miss "I'll be back soon as I can thanks for covering oh look drugs wait was I supposed to work oh well" (we call her, "What the fuck, Jodie?" for short), I'm working more hours again this week. So, to those it may concern, I'm working a night shift today and will be back around midnight. And I'm not sure how long I'll be conscious, considering that I got up at seven for a shift I should be about five hours into by now, but I only worked a couple hours. So, we'll see what we see.

In other news, I got my state income tax return yesterday. I paid off some bills, have enough to cover my loan payment, indulged a bit at BPAL (which I've never tried before, so I got an imp set, and chose a couple of them for my mom for Mother's Day) and Amazon (whee for used books! Even with the shipping they're still cheaper than going to a store!) and still have, like, money. This is a very weird feeling. And I will have more money later this month, since the paycheck I had earmarked for bills is now freed up. What a baffling concept. Obviously, some of it will go toward that balance I have with the gas company from my last living situation, since they haven't seen money from me for so long I'm half-expecting a creditor every time my phone rings, but that in itself is practically an indulgence. Putting money toward a bill I haven't been able to spare a penny for! Wooo! Man, that's kinda sad, isn't it?

Okay, off I go now to have something lovely for lunch (and maybe, you know, settle some late fees). Because I can afford to.

Co-workers suck.

Congrats on having money! I'm struggling with that aspect these days, thanks in no small part to Exxon et al.
