Mirrormask. If you like fantasy, dreams, Neil Gaiman, or movies that rely as much on visuals as on the script to tell a story, go see it. It is beautiful and fascinating and so very perfectly Gaiman. It is exactly what would happen if you put one of his and Dave McKean's graphic novels on film. It was well worth the forty minute round-trip walk in the pouring rain I had to make to catch the only showing I'd be able to see. Find where it's playing and go.

Will do. I hope it'll be in Dutch cinemas soon.

How come I didn't know about this before?

I don't know. The only reason I knew about it was because my family and I happened to wander past the thaeter it was playing at a couple days ago, and I happened to stop and grab a brochure because I like the theater. It shows the smaller release indies and the documentaries that don't make it into bigger theaters here in Maine. If it hadn't been for that, I wouldn't have known it existed to go see; I think I was vaguely aware of a Gaiman film coming out, but I'd totally forgotten.
