Tried to watch Mulholland Drive. Had to turn it off out of sheer terror and will have to find out what happens from someone else. Shame, too, it had such a lovely lesbian scene. Naomi Watts and Laura Elena Harring, mmmm.

Tomorrow, I'm going with a few people from my advisor group to see a movie. Last time I did this, I was exposed to The Ring and have just recently begin to be able to make weak jokes about it. This time it's all good, though. We're going to see Down with Love, I like Ewan v. much, so am excited. Bizarrely, I'm really excited for the scene where he's in a towel, even though I've seen Trainspotting and thus have seen Ewan naked. And I'm not especially attracted to him to begin with. I prefer my men at least twice my age, thankyouverymuch. So, I don't know what's up. Maybe I'm just entertained by the fact that the towal in said scene was custom-made.

I hope I like the movie. I've heard both that it sucks and that it rocks, so I don't know. I'm a very, very hard sell on romance flicks (straight romance flicks, anyway), so we'll see. If nothing else, at least there will be Ewan. (Maybe I'm developing a platonic crush?)

Heh, the people that said it sucks do not appreciate camp value. This was the (albeit intentionally) campiest, cheesiest, cutest movie I have seen in a while, and I loved it to bits. :B

Hey, Cathryn, it's Hoedogg from TWoP, cyberstalking you over to your LJ. :) Aww, did you watch Mulholland Drive off my rec? I'm sorry it scared the bejesus out of you! If you made it all the way to the (first) lesbian scene then you've already seen most of the movie, but not the most crucial part, which is the last half hour. If you can try to sit through it, it will be MUCH more rewarding than having someone tell you about it. It does get a bit freaky again at the very end, so I'm not saying it's going to be easy. But it's one of my faves (I watched it twice last week after having just bought the DVD) so of course I highly recommend giving it a try.

Oh, also I wrote my first ever Buffy fic and posted it at ff. I realized that I needed more closure than "Chosen" offered, so I just sat down and got it out of my system. Would love for you to read it and let me know your thoughts, if you get the chance.

Hope all's well. Cheers!
