Awwww Manny. Love! He only drove in all six runs of the game, and yet. I think that quote's right up there with "I don't believe in curses, I think you make your own destination."

Heh. Don't. I wasn't around two years ago, but I am given to understand that Manny's done a total one-eighty in his personality since then.

I was kind of annoyed with him when I first became a fan myself - I started watching in September of 2003, and it took me a while to be able to distinguish the players. So, my first significant memory of Manny is from Game Three of that year's ALCS, when he completely overreacted to that pitch from Clemens. (I still stand by that - it got overshadowed by Pedro and Zimmer, so nobody ever mentions it, but that pitch was nowhere near Manny. It was just an excuse for him to freak out.) I was so not impressed, continued not to be impressed over the offseason, and needed a little convincing to be won over.

So I think my point is that Manny's endearing qualities surfaced relatively recently, so having been peeved with him previously is allowed. *g*
