Happy birthday to me! Which also means happy birthday to my twin-who-is-two-years-older-than-me Ragna, and no, we never did work out who was the evil one. *g* I think it's both of us.
The idea was that Mom, my sister Chelsea, and I were going to go out, have lunch, and then go to the mall and do birthday shopping (for Mom and I both, since her birthday was on Friday).
But no. Because Maine is CLOSED. Blizzard, you see. Hardly any non-necessity place bothered to open, and hardly anyone bothered to go out. Which made the driving kind of fun, because there weren't very many cars on the roads and the city was bizarrely quiet.
It took us a couple of tries to find a restaurant that was open, and the food was okay (but the tiramisu lovely, and I had a weird martini that tasted like lemon cleanser). And the mall? Was CLOSED. The mall never closes for anything. But it did today.
So we ended up wandering pathetically about Wal-Mart, driving around to find any other open places, and managing to fill several hours doing it. It reminded me of the LJ blackout, inasmuch as it's amazing what you can find to do when your usual activities are cut off. And it was fun. =D

Dude, you need an icon. My icon talents are not prodigious, but I will use them for you if you have any requests.
