Honestly, it didn't even occur to me to make them the same person. John and the Comedian have a lot of key things in common, but they are fundamentally different people. The Comedian does some things that John would never, ever do. Also, he was born in 1918. *g*
. . . it still might be more plausible than some other "X and Y are the same person" crossover scenarios I've seen, though.
