So I guess this was inevitable. All I could do in the end was try to go the slightly less predictable route.

Torchwood/The Fix. It was GOING to be a drabble, but Jack wouldn't shut up, so it ended up being two and a half drabbles instead.

Grahame Chandler prides himself on not being easily - or visibly - surprised, but he can't quite stop the doubletake when he looks up at the interloper cheerfully making himself at home at Grahame's table.

The man grins. "Eerie, isn't it? Captain Jack Harkness." He extends his hand to shake, flicking his eyes over Grahame as he does so. Grahame tenses instinctively under the brief scrutiny, even though the tablecloth hides his legs and the only evidence of his deformity is the crutches propped up discreetly in the corner next to him.

"And you're Grahame Chandler," Harkness continues. "Nice to meet you. Really." He smiles again, then keeps going. "I've got a few questions about your nephew. Nothing political. I'm just - a little curious about his ancestry. I mean -" He gestures to his face, for all the world like a preview of Cal in fifteen years, then leans forward on his elbows, looking at Grahame thoughtfully. "You know, the original plan involved seducing you, but I read the file and thought, this guy's a genius, I'm not going to insult his intelligence by bullshitting him. But now I've seen you in person, I'm starting to wish I'd stuck to the original plan. And I'm in a good mood, so you get a vote." He leans forward a little more, giving Grahame a dark-eyed look that makes him instantly hard. "Which would you prefer?"
