Vance Wilson's BA is now at .205!! Y'all can laugh at me, but I say that is HOT. HOT I TELL YOU.
And that is all I have to say about the Tigers today, because any team that gets swept in a doubleheader with the Royals is DEAD TO ME.
Let us discuss happier things, shall we?
I loved telling customers the score in the Red Sox game today. "It's three to on - oh, wait, it's five to one." "It's seven - no, eig - wait, nine to one." "Fifteen to one! Fucking A, Alex Cora!"
Alex Cora! Up with bases loaded and two outs! Three times! The third time up, I was listening with a customer and we were both encouraging him, and cheered when he hit that two-RBI single.
Also, Papi and Manny did that little two homers each thing, and Tek broke his slump in a big way, and so damn many things happened offensively that I actually cannot remember them all. And in the middle of everything, Curt threw a two-run five-hit seven-K seven innings. Awesome game for us on all sides. It might even have been hotter than Vance's BA.

And on the NL side of things, everything happened exactly the way I wanted it to!
The Giants kindly beat the Nats.
The Mets helpfully won an extra-innings game against the Marlins.
And the Braves beat the Phillies (complete, apparently, with a less-than-sexy save from the Farns). I will let them think they are winning me over if it keeps them useful for the rest of the month.
And the Astros won 7-4. And Morgan Ensberg celebrated his second game back from the DL with a homerun in the fifth. I missed you so much, Morgan.
This puts the Astros up in the wild card race by two games over the Phillies, three over the Marlins, and five over the Nats. Look at this, you guys. The team that was my little redheaded stepchild of a team just a few months ago is leading the wild card race. I am so proud. *hugs them*
I love two-thirds of my teams. Admittedly, the other third is a shrivelled blackened smoking heap of NOTHING to me, but that shouldn't take away from the happy two-thirds.
