AUGH MY EYES.

Frightening things I have seen today:

* [livejournal.com profile] slappymcbluelip has a new icon.

* Mark Bellhorn playing shortstop in game two of the doubleheader.

* Brand shiny new pitcher from the Sea Dogs takes over for Halama and loads up the bases.

At this point in the day, we were just leaving my grandparents' house after dinner. I took one look at the loaded bases, thought, "Oh, this'll end well," and went to put my shoes on. As I was hugging Grandma good-bye, I hear a horrible, horrible phrase: "Over the wall." I run into the living room (without actually pushing my grandmother aside, obviously), and look at my grandfather, who says, "Grand slam. For the wrong team." I do the Dance of Fuck Fuck Fuck (which, when performed in front of one's grandfather, consists of spazzing in place and mouthing, rather than screaming, "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!") Bleargh.

* Upon getting home and checking my mail, I find that the Yankees shut out the A's, 6-0.

* Oh, and the Astros? 16-0. Except, oops, they're the ones who got shut out. AT SIXTEEN TO ZERO. And I don't even remember being in Atlanta today, so they must have had an actual pitcher on the mound. Fucking scary. Really, really glad that that's not the game I got to watch, as on the whole I preferred the 4-1 loss.

* Then I looked into my shopping bags and realized that I had forgotten to buy the ibuprofen I need for my hand. I did some damn thing to it and now everyone thinks I have tendinitis (OMG I AM JUST LIKE TEH FARNS), so I tend to agree, so I am wearing a brace which helps but I need some ibuprofen before the pain really starts wearing on my nerves and I become homicidal.

On the other hand, the Sox did win their first game 6-3, and the Tigers beat the ever-loving crap out of the Angels 10-1, so those were nice things to see. Also, yesterday when I arrived at Mom's, my four-year-old brother Colby, who can be fairly indifferent in handing out affection, raced right over and gave me a hug and said, "I thought I'd never see you." How's that for making a girl feel loved? I know I pretty much melted into a puddle on the spot.

Plus, getting to see the grandparents, and dinner today was good, and WADE MILLER FINALLY. So, of course, overall a good day.

But yeesh. Scariness abounded.

OMG CHANNELING TEH FARNS!

Beware metal fans on the floor and people who want to sleep with you but may have 'diseases'. Oh, and tight pants. Beware those too. :)

For the record, one of my siblings was watching game 2 on MLB TV, and when I saw Bellhorn at short out of the corner of my eye, I damn near walked into a wall. DAMN YOU, BELLHORNIO.
